One of Australia’s leading maritime practices, Cocks Macnish is a small firm of four partners and two associate partner with a strong client base.

Cocks Macnish was established in 1981 by Graeme Macnish and Tim Cocks, both partners having considerable experience in the maritime, general insurance and commercial litigation fields.

Ashley Nichols commenced employment with the firm in late 1981 and became a partner in 1985.

The firm was established specifically to cater for clients in the maritime, transport, insurance and related commercial fields.

The firm prides itself in the level of close coordination between the firm and its clients. Each of the partners has an ongoing personal contact with all their clients. It is a matter of strict procedure and pride that all clients are kept personally informed of all aspects and matters in respect of which instructions have been received on a continuous and regular basis.

During 2007 Waqas Naseem was appointed partner and Paul Hopwood and Julia Routley associate partners.
